SUMMARY:GPCE 2009
DESCRIPTION:Eighth International Conference on Generative Programming
and Component Engineering (GPCE 2009)\n\nGenerative and component appr
oaches are revolutionizing software development similar to how automat
ion and components revolutionized manufacturing. Generative Programmin
g (developing programs that synthesize other programs), Component Engi
neering (raising the level of modularization and analysis in applicati
on design), and Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs) (elevating program sp
ecifications to compact domain-specific notations that are easier to w
rite, maintain, and analyze) are key technologies for automating progr
am development.\n\nThe International Conference on Generative Programm
ing and Component Engineering provides a venue for researchers and pra
ctitioners interested in techniques for enhancing the productivity, qu
ality, and time-to-market in software development that stems from depl
oying components and automating program generation. In addition to exp
loring cutting-edge techniques for developing generative and component
-based software, our goal is to foster further cross-fertilization bet
ween the software engineering research community and the programming l
anguages community.\n\nTopics\nGPCE seeks contributions in software en
gineering and in programming languages related (but not limited) to:\n
 \nGenerative programming\nGenerative techniques\nComponent-based softw
are engineering\nIntegration of generative and component-based approac
 hes\nDomain engineering and domain analysis\nSeparation of concerns\nI
ndustrial applications of the above\n\n\nSubmissions\nResearch papers\
n10 pages in SIGPLAN proceedings style (sigplanconf.cls) reporting ori
ginal research results that contribute to scientific knowledge in the
areas listed below (the PC chair can advise on appropriateness).\n\nTo
ol demonstrations\nTool demonstrations should present available tools
that implement novel generative and component-based software engineeri
ng techniques. Any of the GPCE'09 topics of interest are appropriate a
reas for research demonstrations but purely commercial tool demonstrat
ions will not be accepted. Submissions should contain a tool descripti
on of 4 pages in SIGPLAN proceedings style (sigplanconf.cls) that will
be published in the proceedings, and a demonstration outline of up to
2 pages text plus 2 pages screen shots that will be used by the PC to
evaluate the submission.\n\nTutorials and Workshops\nTutorials and wo
rkshops of interest to the GPCE audience can be submitted to MODELS 20
 09. Please contact the corresponding MODELS chairs for submission deta
ils. Accepted MODELS tutorials and workshops that are primarily aimed
at the GPCE audience will preferably be scheduled for Tuesday, October
  6, 2009.\n\nCall for papers\n\nFor more information visit http://www.
