Hi Tom, You might also discover this website www.model2code.com . You will find free MDSD tutorials, demos and trials. This vendor is offering agile model driven application generators built on Eclipse Ganymede and powered by Blu Age.

Tom, Go to my website at www.vsmerlot.com. There is a link to the "the DACS" on the left side that contains a link pointing to "Software Tech News". The current issue is devoted to Model Driven Development. I have an article in the current Jan issu…

Sure, Here is the website for OAW. you can download the OAW plug-ins here (but read next paragraph*)... read the manual and start with the Xtext project... dead simple... http://www.openarchitectureware.com/ * However, what I would do is use the…

Because I can get lost could you post links for "Xtext project" and "OAW"?

Its funny, I've been involved in MDSD for several years now and even I still feel like a beginner at times! My advice would be to start off with something like an Xtext project in OAW and generate some code from it (pretty elegant and relatively sim…

I want to thank everyone for both there information and encouragement. I still create my own websites, sometimes for money, so yes, I am both learning to be more of an "analyst" and I still do some programming. All of you are right. The reason I am…

Tom, I think the network would also be interested in your learning experience. Many of us have been working in this field for a while and we're maybe less aware of the beginner's perceptions and experience than we should be.

I vaguely remember reading someplace a while ago about the idea of "executing the model" instead of creating/compiling source code from the model. While I can understand the attractiveness of wanting to execute the model, I remember the discussion m…

If you want to experiment full code generation from models (having models as source rather than code) you might be interested to download trial version of MetaEdit+ from http://www.metacase.com. The package provides two concrete tutorials on familia…

You have many different cartridges and to run the generate code requires a server. I think that you don't need today AndroMDA because even if this excellent project it is getting older and really very very few new companies are launching new project…

It looks like AndroMDA needs a copy of the Appache Webserver to be running. Right?

It is clear that my BA coursework will include learning UML because I was told to buy "UML for the IT Business Analyst" by Howard Podeswa. This book includes references to "Rational Rose" which is nice but not in my price range :) I was able to loc…

Profile Information

My interest in Model Driven Software Development:
As a programmer I have always been interested in being able to avoid coding
My experience of Model Driven Software Development:
None, I think. I have been exposed to non-procedural languages like Focus and later Sql that have whetted my interest in solving problems without writing the algorithm/sequential code.
